Hi, I'm El.

I created Moth while on maternity leave following the birth of my first baby. Little Leni!

My son was born with significant health issues, and it meant we spent a lot of time in Alder Hey Children's hospital on the neonatal and critical care wards.

Although our time getting to know our baby over the first 6 months was beautiful, it was also the most difficult time of our lives.

I really struggled at times, and sought support from the NHS when I was finding it hard to cope.

I turned to creative hobbies to take my mind off the difficulties I was facing, to relax and feel productive outside of being a mum. The sense of achievement and satisfaction I felt after finishing a small piece of embroidery, or a painting was transformative.

I realised my passion for interiors and having a creative outlet was my happy place.

This is how Moth came to be.
